National Capital Area Garden Clubs invite you to attend the CAR-SGC Conference
on October 24 and 25, followed by the NCAGC Symposium on October 26 and 27, 2019.
Fall is a wonderful time of year to visit our Nation's Capital and you don't want to miss
any of the programs, tours or workshops that are planned for you!

  • FABULOUS CONFERENCE PROGRAMS, TOURS and WORKSHOPS

Here are just a few details to whet your appetite: The luncheon feature is the documentary, Return, concerning courageous Native American women who reclaim foods for their tribes' health and spirit. Next will come a glorious afternoon tour on the Mall at the U.S. Botanic Garden, or a workshop choice of a photography contest, unusual use of herbs or art with design. And don't forget the Vendors and cocktail hour! The evening program will be presented by Rick Davis of Amaryllis, one of Washington, D.C.'s premier floral design firms. He will showcase our Farm to Table theme, incorporating local products into stunning and visually appealing designs.

  • THE SYMPOSIUM

The Symposium that follows A Capital Harvest will feature two highly respected NGC Instructors. Dorothy Yard's horticulture focus will be on NGC Judging of Orchids. The related Allied Topic will be Growing Orchids. Julia Clevett will provide answers to So What is New in Design and provide more details with Botanical Arts Design as the Allied Topic. While choreographed to further educate Accredited Flower Show Judges, the Symposium is open to all garden club members.

  • CONVENIENT LOCATION

This year's Conference and Symposium will be held at the Arlington Hilton, perched above the Ballston Metro Station in Northern Virginia at 950 North Stafford Street, Arlington, VA 22203. This location provides easy access to Reagan National Airport and everything our Nation's Capital has to offer. Ballston is a wonderful area of Arlington with daily parking available for $20 in the public garage that adjoins our hotel and several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

  • AFFORDABLE ACCOMMODATIONS

Participants will appreciate the low daily cost to stay at the Arlington Hilton: Only $119 for your room plus taxes (about $135 for single or double occupancy). Our hotel has extended this incredible room rate for three days before and three days after the Conference and Symposium so you can turn this into a ten-day vacation during a perfect time of year to visit our Nation's Capital. Register now, while rooms are still available at this rate.

  • YOUR GUIDE TO REGISTRATION and CHECK-IN

Register for the Conference only, Symposium only, or for both the Conference and Symposium. Attendance at the business meeting and evening programs will be limited, so register early! Conference check-in will begin at noon on October 24. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the Vendors, take the Big Bus or Metro into D.C. or join a workshop at the hotel before the Conference begins the next morning.

Please come!

We look forward to introducing you to our wonderful program and workshop presenters
and sharing our beautiful area with you.
