INTRODUCING OUR REGION & LEADERS

Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs (CAR-SGC)

The Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs, Inc., known as CAR-SGC, is a non-profit corporation that was formed in October 2016 to succeed the unincorporated Central Atlantic Region of National Garden Clubs (NGC). The previous regional organization was established in May 1929 by Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Ohio. Pennsylvania joined in 1931, followed by National Capital Area in 1954 and Delaware in 1958.

Mission Statement: Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs supports the mission of National Garden Clubs, Inc. to provide education, scholarships, and Region networking opportunities for its members to promote the love of gardening, floral design, and civic and environmental responsibility.

CAR-SGC Objectives

Coordinate and further the interests and activities of NGC and CAR-SGC member garden clubs.
Aid in the protection and conservation of natural resources, promote civic beauty and encourage the improvement of roadsides and parks.
Study and advance the fine arts of gardening, landscape design, floral design, horticulture and environmental protection.
Cooperate with other organizations in furthering these objectives and other activities that may be determined by the CAR-SGC Board of Directors.
Promote horticulture education, conservation, landscape design and related fields through scholarships and grants.
